Pastor Jon Purkey is the founder and lead pastor of Nexus Church. Pastor Jon’s relentless passion is what drives him to take unprecedented steps of faith in his walk with Christ in order to see the unreached discover that they are sons and daughters of God, and that Christ has not only provided them salvation, but He has come to bring them hope, peace, joy, love and life extraordinary for today! He and his wife Lisa reside in the Kansas City area with their three sons, Jonathan, Jaxon and Brixton.

To build a Church that expresses the love of Christ. A Church that reaches all walks of life and is not bound by tradition of religion.

To build a Church that is innovative and full of influence. A Church that is progressive and highly technical in presenting the Gospel.

To build a Church that is dependent upon the Holy Spirit for direction. A Church that is filled with repentant sinners responding to Christ.

To build a Church that has selfless givers. A Church that makes such a great impact in its city that buildings struggle to contain the increase.

To build a Church that changes the way people see church. A Church that not only influences its city but the entire world.

To build a Church that is built upon unconditional love. A Church that is filled with sacrifice and love for spreading the Gospel.

To build a Church that disciples people for Jesus Christ. A Church that helps people find answers and true acceptance.

To build a Church that is kingdom minded. A Church that is full of God’s Spirit and power.

To build a Church that has heartfelt worship that touches heaven and changes earth. A Church that empowers people to share Christ.

We believe that the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the 'new birth' we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer and the 'breaking of bread'.

We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to help others more effectively.

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

The Nexus community has made a world of difference in my life. I had been praying for years to be lead to a church that would allow me to find fellowship and grow with others in Christ. I feel such relief knowing that my own daughter is getting love and guidance when she is in the toddler room. Thank you Pastor Jon and Lisa for bringing the love of Jesus to our community.

I have not missed a service at Nexus since my first visit on Sunday February 9th 2014. I have listened to just about every sermon and watched every video on the Nexus app. I finally feel like I am where I belong at this stage in my life. I have jumped right into serving the good people at Nexus. I am ready share my heart, my service, my love, and the money that God so graciously provides to me. Thank you Nexus for doing what you do!

I was in a toxic relationship and had a drug addiction and a drinking problem. I couldn't keep a job or even provide my children with a stable home. My life has completely turned around since coming to Nexus. This church has truly changed my life and shown me love and support I never knew existed.

Before I set foot inside Nexus, I had never heard that Jesus loved me. I never knew the real story, or what Grace was. I always tried to be a good person, be kind to others and live a good life. But I had a hole in my heart that nothing ever seemed to fill. It is because of Jon Purkey and everyone at Nexus that I now live a life of purpose, with hope for the future. I am no longer plagued with doubt and depression, fear and self pity. I am now filled with joy and a warmth words can't describe. Just like many others, I needed Nexus before it even began. I am happy to serve Nexus Church for the rest of my life, because if it wasn't for Nexus, I may not even be here.
